Can you answer jawrope’s question?:
I’ve found some grants online. Can I talk to someone about applying? Could I do the applications for them? How? Etc…

If you want to do grant writing, you can either ask them to make it part of your job or do it as a free-lancer. I dont know about your area, but many large cities have organizations that supply information to grant writers on various topics.
There are a lot of places on line to find grants. Since we dont know what line of support you are looking for, research in the area where you might get money and start getting information on applying.
It is a lot of work and a lot of attention to detail, but would be great for your organization and surely would adance your career. It really could be a full time job. If you write well and concisely, go for it.
If not, take some schooling in it.
You will need a good grasp of finances and a good understanding of your organization to know how to pitch the grant. You will also need the cooperation of many of your colleagues to get the information correct.
Where I worked, we created a ‘boilerplate’ for applying so that we wouldnt have to recreate basics over and over again each time we applied.
Good luck – it can be hard but rewarding for all.
