Q&A: Does the pell grant and other grants count as scholarships, when doing your taxes?

They are asking me how much scholarship money I got. do i include grants? What about student loans?

Yes. It counts as scholarships…student loans don’t. If you are paying loans & they are not deferred, then you can claim the interest you paid. If they are defferred, then you don’t claim it either way.
