Call your congressial district office, they usually have a grants person who can send you a package. Most of the time it will include SBA information or Small Business Administration. There are also areas called Small Business Development and Technical Centers that are funded by the fed.

You’ll need a good strong business plan and a budget before you apply for any grants. They dont give much grant money, but they do a lot of low interest loans, based on education, business plan, and current income.

There is a little money for minorities, but not much for women these days, as they are no longer considered a minority by the US CENSUS. White men took there place on the minority list back in 2000.

Honestly you should try for grants and loans, but not based on perceived shortcommings, and try to be successful all your own.
