Can you answer Pixi’s question?:
Im looking for someone who HAS ACTUALLY gone through with applying for a govnt grant (not a loan) and writing a proposal….how can I learn more about this. The grants.gov website is hard to navigate and my main concern is actually locating the specific grant I need to apply for.. Thanks for your help.

Theres a quick and easy way to find out what you’re eligible for. I found this site http://TopGrantPrograms.com that had information on grants and which programs were available. They’ve got these kits that explain everything including the application process. Costs like 3 bucks to get the info and the one I tried showed about half a dozen that might work for me.
You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support home repairs.
Grants.gov is a little hard to navigate, so you need to really learn how the whole process goes
