Can you answer aquariusgurl’s question?:
I found a perfect home for me and it is a little above my price range( because of the taxes). I would be living there alone and have never owned a home before. I am not on the poor end of the spectrum. i fall in the middle class range. Are there any grants that I can apply for to help me afford this house?

I doubt you will find a grant for a couple reasons–your income and the location of the house.

Grants for first-time buyers are state-sponsored typically, and are targeted for low-income buyers who agree to participate in a training program. AND these grants target specific neighborhoods, as part of a redevelopment effort. I doubt your perfect home is in one of these neighborhoods. Often these grants come with specific loans and requirements to stay in that house for a certain period of time.

You won’t know until you search Google. Michigan + “first-time buyer”, or Michigan + “housing assistance”.
