By Robert Smethers

The small business grants innovation research is from the USDA. This is just one of many federal business grants that could serve your need for your small business. This free grant is a project grant and the federal government has set aside 2 billion dollars a year for this grant. It never needs repaid.   The 10.212 Small Business Grants Innovation Research Program- is an exceptional free grant program that does so much more than the name can describe.

It is used to encourage increased technology by private companies like yours. It will also make your company stronger by meeting federal research requirements and developmental needs of government agencies. In the latest news and information from the Tallahassee Democrat who just wrote a wonderful article on how to do it right. In Tallahassee they came up with an industrial park to do just that. It is called the Innovation Park. They work in cooperation with two colleges and economic development commission there called Enterprise Florida.

It is the states economic development arm, and has launched what its calling Phase Zero. What is Phase Zero? Well I am glad you asked. When companies who may qualify for an SBIR grant can pay Enterprise Florida $250 to evaluate their proposal. If Enterprise Florida signs off, the state will provide additional money to help the business prepare a more detailed proposal for federal grant funding. They give you the professional help that you need to stay competitive. Currently 11 federal agencies are accepting proposals, including the Department of Energy, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Commerce and NASA.

Innovation Park also works with the local colleges and other groups to become what is hope to be the best in the nation. When we all work together we can succeed. It is almost impossible to go it alone. If you do not have the support of your community, then get it.
